Silesia unites
For the first time two exhibitions, from Opole and Silesia regions were combined in one exhibition of dairy cattle in Kamien Slaski Silesia Dairy Show. 34 exhibitors from the two regions presented wide audience their best cattle.
The main organizers of the exhibition was the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers - Opole Branch under the direction of Teresa Kurowska, District Cattle Breeders Association in Opole, along with chairman Martin Ziaja and the Silesian Union of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers with their new president Mr. Zbigniew Chwastek. 100 animals including 30 cows and 70 heifers, mainly of Holstein-Frisian breed in two color versions: black and white and red and white, race montbéliarde, and extremely likeable race jersey. The Silesia Cattle show is now one of the largest exhibitions of dairy cattle in Poland. All animals were assessed by a German judge Mr. Dirk Schmüser. The title of Superchampion of the Exhibition went to a little-known breeder, Mr. Henryk Grabiński of Lagiewniki. "Exhibition of Young Breeders' organized by the Małopolska Biotechnology Centre in Krasne, as usual was an absolute highlight of the show. 15 calves were presented by young breeders.
